We flew out of Buenos Aires (Argentina) this morning for Brazil. The flight was only 3 hours so not too long. You should see how be the city is from above. It just goes for miles and miles.

I keep singing the song by Barry Mannilow....you know the one about the show girl and the Copacabana where music and passion was always the fashion at the......

Checked into the original Copacabana Palace on the beach and was met with welcoming cocktails. Two of these beauties was enough to give us the giggles. It was the original Brazilian cocktail Caipirinha. This is made from sugar cane rum, lime, sugar and ice. We had a free evening for dinner so Geoff and I was to go to a seafood restaurant. After the group was discussing what they were going to do for dinner we ended up with 8 of our group going to this restaurant for dinner. It was a great night and we enjoyed having everyone with us. It just made it so much more enjoyable. Our room is nice but not overlooking the beach.

We went for a stroll along the beach in the afternoon and watched the sunset .

Walked up to the restaurant after instructions from the tour leader that it was not too far and we checked with the concierge desk and they confirmed only 10 blocks we all decided to walk up there. The restaurant was very unusual to say the least/. All of the décor which was on the ceiling was hanging upside down. The ladies rest room was full of dolls and teddy bears also hanging upside down. This décor definitely created some interesting dinner conversations. You will see what I mean from the pictures. The waiters were also dressed in pirate costumes. The food was a buffet for the salads and hot dishes and then there was seafood and beef which was freshly cooked and brought out to each of the tables. We had lobster, prawns, fish, langoustines (type of small crayfish), calamari, octopus, scallops and whatever else you can think of. The manager also gave us all complimentary schnapps before we left. Boy were they potent. We decided to make the walk back to burn off some of those extra calories and the night was such a beautiful night.
