Weather fine, temperature 31 - 25 degrees, sunrise 6.55am sunset 5.16pm

Such a busy day today . Sights were fantastic. We went to Christ the Redeemer Statue this morning and it was an amazing view. We could see everywhere. So many times we have been advised that people who come up here only get to see his feet but you should see the fantastic weather we had. Whoa you should see all of the people up here and it is not even 10.00am, can you imagine that it would be standing room only up here 'cause I can.

On the way back from the statue we went for a quick drive around to the famous beach of Ipanema, the song that Frank Sinatra sang about the girl from Ipanema. We then came back for a couple of hours of free time and went to the Copacabana Beach across the road. This was such a good idea as it was so relaxing and not too hot in the sun. Geoff had a swim but the water was too cold for me! It was about 23 degrees he reckons.

Back out again at 3.30pm to Sugarloaf Mountain for a 360 degree view of the city . The way to the top is in a couple of cable cars. This is where the James Bond 1978 movie, Moonraker was filmed with them fighting in and out of the cable cars.

The day was fantastic, we managed to stay up there for a magical sunset.  The sunset even had the statue in the background. What more can I say AMAZING!!!

Dinner tonight was included. We attended a Brazilian BBQ where there is a salad bar and then the meat comes around on skewers and sliced at your plate. You are given a card to indicate if you wish to keep going or stop. To display the green side of the card the waiter will stop at your plate to offer you the next cut of meat. This was yummy too!

When walking outside the restaurant you have a fantastic view of Christ the Redeemer Statue at night, it appears to be a cross or you could even make out that he is floating in thin air. Geoff has taken so amazing photos so you can see the fantastic weather for today.
