Petropolis, the old Imperial Palace

Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Weather fine, temperature 31 to 25 degrees, sunrise 6.47am and sunset 5.22pm.

We visited the old Imperial Palace, Cathedral and Crystal Palace today, The Imperial Palace is approx . 1.5 hours drive up windy roads but all good. No one is allowed to take pictures inside the palace only out in the garden or in the chariot room.
The Cathedral had magnificent stained glass within all of the windows. Pictures do not do it justice of the different scenes noted in the bible.
The crystal palace is a glasshouse and it is used for special events. The school had permission to be there today for a presentation so pictures were not easy to get. It was so hot inside so I spent most of the time there outside in the shade.

On our return to Copacabana at 5.00pm due to bad traffic, Geoff and I went for a walk around the shops. There is a huge amount of fog rolling in from the sea and we cannot see anymore than 200 metres. We grabbed a bite to eat from one of the eateries across the road on the beach this evening so that we could have an early night it was midnight after calling home last night when we finished.

I will upload photos when I can get them off my camera, it is not being co-operative or I will get some off of Geoff when he reviews them.

We are off to Iguassu Falls tomorrow so another flight for approx. 2.40 hours.

Talk again soon.
