Last night we were advised that we could not visit the Argentine side of the Iguazzu Falls as there was a strike where they had closed the only bridge into Argentina so our visit would not be able to happen .  :(
Luck has it this morning at breakfast around 9am we were updated that the strike was over so we madly came back and packed to leave at 10am. We all did it in time!

Iguazzu Falls crosses 3 countries' boarders, Brazil (where we are), Argentina (where we were previously) and Paraguay (not going there). Believe it or not, you can see the Argentine side from across the falls.

It was absolutely amazing!! We walked out on a platform to above the part called the Devils Throat. The water is so ferocious and powerful. The guide joked yesterday that if you fall in on the Brazilian side we could pick you up in Argentina tomorrow as it runs that fast. We also did another platform walk and this is where we can see rainbows as the sun has come out today. There were such colourful butterflies here on the walk. 2 of them were just resting on my hand for ages. You can see from the pictures of my hand . There are also some animals which are the same as raccoons but they do not wear the mask. They are serial food stealers. A lady was holding a bag of food and must have rustled the plastic, next thing you know the animals have ripped the bag open and stolen all of their lunch and run off. They can carry rabies so you have to be careful. At the restaurant for lunch they were jumping up on the tables so try to steal people’s lunch so the restaurant staff are constant staff are constantly hunting them off. They even knock over the wheelie bin to get out the thrown out food.

I have amazing pictures but they do not do the falls justice so I have uploaded a really short video so that you can really appreciate the experience with us. People from our group who have been to Niagara Falls say that this is much bigger but it would depend on how much water was flowing as if there is not much rain the falls would be considerably smaller.

Tonight we flew to Lima, Peru at 7.45pm and arrived at 12.30pm which is really 2.30am Brazil time. Tired teddies.

Another end to an amazing day!
