Visiting smaller Machu Picchu

Sacred Valley, Peru
Weather cloudy but fine, temperature 20 to 5 degrees

2,900 metres above sea level

Today was a bit fresh to start with as we were out an about at 8am . We commenced with a walking tour around Ollyantaymbo in the Sacred Valley.   We visited a local house where they had cats, ducks, ducklings and guinea pigs all living together harmoniously. The owner showed us her house. We could walk the Ollyantaymbo Inca ruins however we all declined as we did Machu Picchu. Mind you there were about 300 steps to climb so we ended up having extra time at the markets as Pisac.

This afternoon we had lunch at a local's house where they served up typical Peruvian food. No, there was not guinea pig. We had nibbles, soup and a meat dish. The drink was made from the purple corn, not my cup of tea but many other people did like the drink.

Afternoon was free time so Geoff went for a walk around the hotels grounds but I was tired so caught some zzzz time.
