Well our grand design to get up really early and make our way to Paris didn't go as planned as we slept in a bit. We had a great breakfast with Genevieve, our host, and spent a while with her talking about a wide range of topics. By 10am we had the car all packed up and we were ready for our 8 hour drive. The weather was getting nicer, although the wind was still sharp, so we wouldn't be driving through rain at least. It took us about half an hour to get to the autoroute and then we were making good time with the posted speeds of 130km/h, okay...not the wide open roads of Deutschland but still faster than Switzerland.

Over the distance we had time to reflect on some of the oddities that we'd see up to now that we didn't have time to include in our previous blogs . Here's a few...
