Day 1

London, England, United Kingdom
We left Melbourne without incident and arrived in Singapore to a downpour and 32 degrees. Singapore with its shiny tall buildings, traffic and people. There was building work going on everywhere, there doesn't seem to be any more space, but it doesn't seem to stop them, now they even park ships on top of buildings! (See photo). Without much time we did little except eat, sleep and swim. Gemma was in awe of Changi airport, with its free wifi (yay to be connected again after a few hours offline) and butterfly enclosure.

The A380 to London was incredible, how does something so big fly? So quiet, so smooth, surreal . Too many choices for things to watch and do, it was amazing how 13 hours seemed to fly.

We arrived in London with a forecast of snow, smoking breath and just laughing at the juxtaposition of where we have come from. Our inner child came out as we drove past Buckingham Palace and down the road that we have seen many times for Royal weddings. We are here, so tired, so cold and so excited. Gemma has been such a great traveller and has collapsed into bed exhausted.

It is morning now, and Gem sleeps on, whilst Paul and I are itching to start exploring - we don't care about the weather, we are here!
