Stop-over in Switzerland

Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
Our friends Azeem, Christy, Kamyaar, Zayd and Ayana from Maui organized a Kenyan Safari.  They were kind enough to let us tag along on this adventure and it was absolutely amazing! We visited 4 continents in two weeks and had an absolute blast. We wanted to capture and share our memories in this blog.

We took an 11 hour red-eye from San Francisco to Zurich and got in at 4 in the afternoon. We took a quick train to our hotel in the Old Town of Zurich. We got quite a warm welcome and a "gutentag" from the friendly staff. We were only staying in Zurich for about 40 hours in order to get on the correct timezone. We had wonderful weather (except for the fog over the Alps) and walked around the town. The next day we took a nap and then a train up to the tallest hill, Üetliberg. The views were nice and we had a fun hike back down into the city where we caught a bus home. The stop-over was quite successful although we probably could have used another day to really get adjusted to the timezone.

The next morning we caught an early train to the airport and flew almost 8 hours to Nairobi. We met our first retinal scanner and were granted access into the country. Whoo-hoo, our first time in Africa! We were all very excited and yelled the greeting of "Jambo!" to everybody in site. We were only there for about 12 hours and quick sleep before we boarded our small plane to our first safari game park: Amboseli.
