Awesome lodging n location. Rode little rope ferry over to dunes. Kids had a blast boogieing sown dunes. L n I joined in too.
Finn n I had short sesh in waves. Good times n fun pics Late dinner of pasta n broccoli n then to bed
Fri Mar 14
Crew slept in which was good to get crew rested
Headed out for morning boogie sesh on dunes which was fun til boys started fighting.
I snuck in a run a checked out the local restaurant.
Crossed in the manual ferry then packed up for a coastal hike
Stopped for lunch at said restaurant and spotted ice cream on way out. Promise of ice cream raised the boys' spirits n made them willing to hike.
Hike was quite beautiful. First hour was pretty sand beach with boys zooming around. Saw a crazy NZ paraglider.
Next part was 30 mins of scrambling over rocks until we reached the archway rock. Not the most fun part of the hike.
Next we climbed some steep steps up the cliffs and had some stunning views of the Chicken Islands.
We walked along the bluffs for an hour until descending to the beach and then our car.I saw some kiters out and was surprised to see them on 11m kites. Seemed windier than that.
We returned to our town and stopped for the promised ice cream. Laura was hungry and ordered a pizza which turned into two and an early dinner.
We had a late afternoon sesh of boogie on the dunes and then had a mellow evening.
A pleasant day and glad that we got the boys out for a long hike before the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Hey, that boogie boarding on the sand looks like fun, I wouldn't mind trying it myself. Does it hurt when you fall?
