Fifth day of pedaling

-we got up and were very happy to see a buffet style breakfast . No more multiple hour meal. The food was good and we stuffed ourselves accordingly for the ride ahead.
-we hopped on our bikes and went to the town we had visited yesterday by mistake. It was fine and we took some pics but we were soon ready to move on because we knew there were many more kms ahead.
-we pedaled across a 5km bridge into the wind and it was tough. Check out our stats and you will see.
-on the other side of the bridge was pretty farmland and we cycled through. At one point we realized that we could cycle along the dike and watch the boats as opposed to farmland. It was a good move even if it only lasted for 2kms
-we rolled on and caught the ferry just in time. We talked with the Texas couple and the Oz couple both of whom were doing around the world trips with no set agenda. Very inspirational.
-after the ferry was the super tourist town of Veer. As I told Laura, "been Veer and done Dat." So we quickly pedaled on.
-we were done and just wanted to be in our hotel. The last 10km seems to be the most painful and today was no exception
-we gutted it out through the twist and turns and locks and cycleways and made it to the hotel. It was exactly as expected: a seaside resort hotel. A nice room and we will see what dinner brings.
-we walked into the quaint city square and found a yummy Chinese restaurant with a very friendly English speaking hostess. We were very happy. Home with leftovers and some deep sleep.
-today's bike stats: elapsed time 6:07, rolling time 4:01, distance 60 km. We are getting slower but also spent time touring cities and getting on and off a ferry which counts against our rolling time. But no doubt, we are getting slower and our butts are getting sorer. One more day will be enough. Anything more would be tough. I'm pretty good with those rhymes, eh? Church yo.
