Rochefort, The Ardennes, Belgium
Sun Aug 3
-got rolling to nearby Namur and were pleased with how fast the Belgian expressways are.
-a stop in the info center got us well oriented and armed with a handy map of the citadel in English.
-we reparked close to the pedestrian area and soon found a promising cafe. Laura scored with the chicken kabob order and I did ok with sole.
-once fueled we headed off to assault the citadel. It was a good thing we had eaten because the climb was substantial. It was an impressive structure.
-the self guided tour turned out to be just right and we enjoyed our visit. Namur had far surpassed our expectations. It was a great stop.
-we drove on to our hotel in Rochefort. Our host was a bit grumpy and the room had alot of road noise. A bit of a disappointment.
-we fueled up and let the rain pass. We strolled into town and found a yummy Thai place with a super friendly hostess and a nice patio. Laura stopped me from ordering too much and we had just the right amount of dinner. Yum.
-back to the hotel for some sleep and road noise.
