So off we went to Dubai and the flight was uneventful.
Pete could sleep on a very narrow
clothesline, or even a barbed wire fence, so his eyes were shut before we left
the ground and he slept much of the flight in-between a couple of movies which
took a bit of rewinding more than once until he’d seen the whole thing. I got maybe four hours total which was a
surprise, good for me for a change. Movies were okay, no comment
on the food other than we really enjoyed the hot sausage roll snack which came
round through the night, and I think that Emirates flight attendants are not
exactly friendly nor particularly visible, Pete agrees.
The stopover in Dubai was long enough to walk to
the transit gate, get on a bus which drove literally for miles to the far edge
of nowhere to another huge terminal, walked to the new gate and boarded our
next flight to Manchester pretty much straight away. This flight was chocka, we had window and
middle seat, slept for almost half the eight-hour flight, and that was
that. I do like the flight tracker too; we could
see that we were flying almost over the top of Katowice so waved to our Polish
family out the window.
