Saturday 13 July
We had time to kill at Changi, then
an 8 ½ hour flight to Auckland – Pete slept maybe five hours, I slept less than
one; that’s typical for us both, and we both slept on the flight down to Nelson.
Karin had moved on to her next
house-sit by the time we got home, and walking into the house it was like the
good fairy had spring-cleaned everything, wonderful!
And Spider the cat was asleep in his
chair; from memory that’s where he was when we left him six weeks ago but
photos have shown us that he did move as far as the sunny patches on the living
room floor.
Thank you for sharing our adventures
during our six week holiday.
Lastly I have some advice for
travellers – never leave home without:
- A cell phone that will take a local SIM card
- Packing cubes – makes finding things in your bag so much easier
- A stretchy clothes line
- Sunlight soap
- An all-purpose rubber sink plug
- A wedge doorstopper – needed if you’re in a dodgy hotel or guesthouse
