Chicago to Copenhagen

O'Hare International Airport, Illinois, United States
Our port of debarkation (and entry) from/to the USA is Chicago (O'Hare Airport) for this trip.  Viking Cruises handled the air arrangements and has us on an overnight SAS flight into Copenhagen.  This trip will be our first with SAS so we'll see if meet their reputation (which is about the same as a major USA airline) or exceed it (good or bad).  We’re sitting at gate M13 as I write this waiting to board our SAS Airbus A340.  Couldn’t get much of a photo through the glass with the interior lights reflecting back from the night sky.
We read where SAS is not generous with beverages so we bought a couple bottles of Dasani water (standard size) at $3.39 each.  That expense came on top of a 2 cheeseburger and fries with one diet soda dinner at $38.00 in the international terminal here at O’Hare International Airport!  We did much better on food in the Atlanta Airport’s International terminal on our trip to Italy last year.  But at least we’re not hungry.  The flight to Denmark is slightly over 8 hours with added time to taxi out to the runway here in Chicago. We don’t expect to get fed until sometime tomorrow morning.  We do hope we’ll be able to get some sleep on this plane.  The online system shows the plane is almost full.  Don’t yet know how crowded it’s going to feel.  See you on the other side of the ocean!
