Ah....the Florida Keys

Marathon, Florida, United States
After 6 months of travelling....hooking up and unhooking....we were ready to stop for a while so we booked ourselves into the Jolly Roger RV Resort in the Florida Keys. Marathon to be exact....about halfway down to Key West. The best part of this RV spot, at least at this time of year, is that we are right in front of the Gulf of Mexico out our front window and porch.

This is about the only RV spot in the Keys that has a swimming area so we could get in and swim, snorkel or lay around on our floats anytime the weather permitted.
The first week we arrived, the weather was very, very windy so we took some palm trees swaying in the "breeze". The sea grass got all piled up on the sea wall also...could not walk near the water for a few days.

And, of course, the sunsets and vistas....

We ate out only once and did not take in any activities much. I went out on a snorkel boat but that was it. We just sat, drank beer, relaxed and tried out the top 10 Rum drinks.

...and a few extras...

Next blog entry will be a summation of our trip over the last 7 months.....see you then...and thanks for following !

Hope you have had a great summer and fall. We are just one month away from our winter holiday in the Hawaiian Islands, we leave Canada on Dec. 8 and will return on March 2. Here is another rum drink for you. It is called a Finnagin.
1 oz spiced rum, juice from 1/2 lemon, stir, add equal parts of tonic water abd ginger akr, a few slices of fresh lemon and ice. Enjoy your winter.

You guys always have the most fabulous pictures! We both really enjoy your posts. We will be so envious of the weather you will get to enjoy this winter while we are freezing here in Kansas.
