Rome, Lazio, Italy
We had to be out of our cabin by 8.00, so we were up at 7.15. There was thunder and lightning outside and it had obviously rained a lot. The weather had turned, but we had got the best of it. We had a leisurely breakfast and sat in our designated area until our disembarkation number was called. We went down to the wharf and collected our bags and then headed for the bus to take us to the airport. It was an hours drive between the port and the airport. We drove on the Autostrada not far from the coast. There were scatter towns and smallish market gardens. We were able to check in straight away. Total weight 61.7 kg. just a little over. We had some lunch and went in search of the departure lounges. Huge queues to go through the security, followed by equally huge queues to go through passport control. At last we got to the gate and were lucky enough to find two seats. The boarding time came and went without explanation. Finally half an hour late we were seated 4 rows from the front, right near a screaming baby. The captain then explained that the plane had arrived late which caused the delay. 6 hours to Dubai. We both watched 2 movies and had dinner which wasn't too flash. We arrived at 11.30 at terminal A, went through security again. My carry on went through the X-ray machine twice before being diverted to be search. A young Moslem lady went through it and decided there was nothing to worry about. We then had to catch the train to Terminal B and subsequently to Terminal C. A long walk. We have a 3 hour wait before our connection to Singapore .
