Day 34. Dubai to Singapore

Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
We are no longer traveling by Emirates A380. We are now in a Boeing 777/300. There was about 5 rows of business class and then we were a further 5 rows back. We had a partition behind us which meant our chairs reclined a little further. But for the next 7 and a half hours is seemed very cramped and unforgiving to cramped legs and aching backs. Once airborne they left us to sleep if we could. I think I managed about three hours. Edie says she got none. We were woken for breakfast about two and a half hours out, but neither of us felt like anything to eat. It was a quick exit from the airport. We met up with the guy who was to drive us to our hotel. It took about 25 minutes, along the road bounded by beautiful lush manicured gardens. Tropical trees filled with stag horns lined the road. What a difference from the browns of Italy and Greece. Once booked in we zoomed up to the 15th floor and checked out our room. The hotel has 72 floors, so our view. Must seem small compared to the one from the top. Edie went straight to bed. I laid down, but couldn't sleep, so went for a walk. Under the hotel is the City Hall metro station and a five stores shopping mall called Raffles City. I bought some essentials like coca cola and wine and then returned to the room. I think we will start our exploring in the morning.
