Another fine day but a bit cooler than yesterday. Edie had read about a market at the Showgrounds in Glenorchy, so we found our way there. It was mostly a "trash and treasure" affair, but it was interesting and Edie did buy a couple of things. I shouldn't say this but I think the hillbillies from Ouse had come down for the weekend as many of the stallholders had that look about them.
We then decided to drive to South Head as this was easily accessible from Glenorchy. It wasn't really what we expected but there was some nice coastal scenery. It was still too early to return to the hotel so we decided to drive up Mt Wellington. Edie did a wonderful job driving up the narrow windy road. It was windy and much cooler on the top. It could have been clearer, but it wasn't too bad. Very alpine in appearance and easy to visualise snow in the winter.
So we are now back at the hotel getting ready to go out for dinner. Will finish this on our return
We're back!! Well it was a funny little boat and all of the passengers seem to be with a seniors tour. It was owned by a Chinese gentleman who was very attentive. All the other diners had pre ordered their meals, so he had to deal with us off the cuff. I ordered steak and Edie had chicken schnitzel . It was really enjoyable. Wine, beer and soft drinks were included. It was a nice way to end our stay in Hobart. Tomorrow we drive back to Devonport and catch the ferry back to Melbourne. Will probably not have access to wifi tomorrow so this may be the final message.
