Muscat, Oman
I warn you now, this isn't going to be a very exciting post, it's just really so we can get a pin on our map!

We left Heathrow at 22:05 on our Oman Airways flight to Kuala Lumpur via Muscat!

In true Richardson style, I didn't even manage to leave the country without getting pulled up by Customs!! Not only did they want to empty my bag and look for anything dodgy but they also took swabs of some items to check for explosives & traces of narcotics!! I blame Jerrie as she joked about us being on Australia's 'Border Control', well we didn't have to wait that long!! Thankfully, as I'm not a drug mule, the only unusual items I was carrying were a Shewee and a cuddly toy so we were allowed through to Departures! Lucky they didn't look in Matt's bag eh?! ;-)

After confessing to Matt the day before I had been a bit tight and not ordered us in-flight meals, we were both relieved to discover that actually they are included in the price of the ticket and we had food given to us so regularly we never had a chance to feel hungry and came close to turning it down a few times!!! We were also spoilt with pillows, blankets, travel survival kits (eye masks, toothbrushes ...) and individual tv screens showing no end of films & tv shows!! (can you tell we are used to flying with budget airlines?!)

Then, just when we thought things couldn't get any better we were informed that on our second flight there were in fact only 30 passengers with only 10 in our section of the plane so we were able to move about n lay out across as many seats as we wanted!! Crazy when you consider there were roughly 500 seats on a long haul flight which must have cost the airline a fortune to fly, especially when you include the 15 crew members on board and all they got was us lot on the 'cheapest fares of the week' tickets!!

So 18 hours, 4 hot dinners, 4 packs of nuts, 4 films, 5 tv shows, ?? hours of sleep and 2 sore bums later we finally arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 23:00 (16:00 GMT) on Thursday 27th September, ready for the next part of our adventure... How on earth do we carry these rucksacks????
