Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia
We arrived at Claire & Luke's a little earlier than we expected so we had to sit in the car for a bit and wait for them to come home. When they did arrive, we unloaded the car, showered and changed, then caught up over a glass of wine before heading to the pub for the final rugby game of the British Lions tour of Australia. The pub we went to was really nice and had lots of TV screens on with different games playing from a variety of different sports. We quickly noticed that one was showing Aussie Rules and it was Adelaide Crows Vs East Coast Eagles which are Chantell & Simon's teams respectively so it was funny they were playing against one another. In the end, the Lions won the rugby making them the winners of the tour overall and the Eagles (Matt's adopted team!) won the AFL game right at the end after a very tight game! Celebrations all round!

On Sunday, I had a nice lay in while Matt and Luke went into Cottesloe to drop Claire at work and then Perth to return our hire car . Matt came back with lots of lovely treats for breakfast as it was our 6 year anniversary. After a pretty lazy morning, Luke dropped us in to the centre of Fremantle. We walked around some of the shopping areas before stopping at the jetty for lunch: fish and chips with a bottle of wine! Very romantic! We had a little wander around the big indoor market, as Luke had asked us to pick him up a phone case for his new iPhone, before he came to pick us up and take us back to the house. Later on, Craig and Charlotte came over and we all went into Cottesloe to meet Claire and her work friends. We enjoyed a few drinks but with everyone, apart from us, having work in the morning, it wasn't a late one and the sad time came to say farewell to Craig and Charlotte. We made it home in time to watch Andy Murray in the Wimbeldon final against Novak Djokovic. I was struggling to keep my eyes open so I said my goodbyes to Luke (he works away during the week) and went to bed before the end but I still knew everything that was happening as I could hear Claire oohing and ahing and my mum was sending me regular updates! It seemed everyone was against me going to sleep though, including the house cat called Meow (yes a cat called Meow!) as she decided she wanted to snuggle up on me but kept walking round on my chest and rubbing her head against mine! Very soppy!!

Monday can only be described as a sorting day! I was in charge of washing our laundry, uploading photos to blog, publishing lots of entries, while Matt uploaded lots of pictures to Facebook, went into town to get the underwater camera developed and post home our souvenirs . As he had an hour or so to wait for the photos, he went to the cinema to see World War Z rather than walking all the way back only to have to pretty much turn straight round again as it's a 30 minute walk each way. When he did get back we completed our final job: taking stills from the whale shark DVD before Claire came home from work and made a delicious lasagne for dinner! I was feeling pretty quiet in the evening though as I was sad it was my last night in Australia!

On Tuesday, we got up at 6am so we could say goodbye to Claire before she went to work. We had booked a shuttle bus to pick us up at 7:30am but at 7am they phoned to say they didn't think they would be able to get us to the airport in time for our flight so didn't want to take the booking!! Very helpful! I quickly ordered us a taxi, which thankfully came within a few minutes and was actually only $22 more expensive than the shuttle! Matt was pretty angry so rang the shuttle company back to "thank" them for their service, I'm not really sure how he didn't swear! The taxi driver was a very chatty man who told us lots about Bali: places to go, places to avoid, and he got us to the airport in plenty of time . After checking in, we exchanged some money as we needed US$25 each for our Indonesian visas and some Indonesian Rupiah to get us started. Matt was very excited as moments after handing over AU$100 he became a millionaire as the exchange rate is 10,000 Rupiah to the American Dollar, therefore about 15,000 to the British Pound. Incredible! We grabbed a quick bite to eat before heading through to the departure gate and onto our flight at 10:35am. It had been an eventful morning but somehow we had managed to do everything we needed to!

I was really sad to be leaving and there were a few tears as we took off. Australia was everything I hoped it would be and more, I met some truly wonderful people who helped create unforgettable memories and I'm confident we will remain close friends long after this trip has ended and my tan has faded away! I can't thank you all enough for making my Australian dream such a fun, exciting adventure and as for the beautiful Land of Oz, I will be back!!
