I have to begin by telling you that we arrived home on Friday, Nov. 11 but since our trip was so packed full of adventures, it was very difficult to write the blog while we were travelling. So, I'm starting now as though we were on the trip so don't be confused by the dates.
Well, the first leg of our trip went smoothly and we all arrived in Newark, from our respective homes, with no delays.
We departed for Marrakech, Morrocco, at 11 p.m. on Oct.10 and arrived, pretty wiped out, at our Home Exchange at 4:30 p.m. on Oct.11.
Our home exchange was large and very comfortable...with a private bedroom and bath for each couple, and was located about 15 minutes from Jemma el-Fna, the enormous main square of Marrakech. The complex was in a gated community, complete with several little markets, restaurants, pharmacies, beauty salons, etc. After settling in, we explored our new community, did some grocery shopping then ate dinner at one of the local restaurants. The Morrocan people are incredibly warm and welcoming and we felt right at home and immediately bonded with the local vendors in the complex. All in all, we all felt that we were off to a great start.

Beautiful sunset view from the window of our flight to Newark where we'll meet the Gang and head off to Marrakech.
