Exploring the sites of Honolulu

Honolulu, Hawaii, United States
Another day to explore do a bit of walking so we have room for a Macadamia Custard Cream pie for afternoon tea.

Hit the road on No. 20 bus to Honolulu. First stop was Punchbowl Street where we started our journey of exploring Honolulu. Last time we were here the tour bus drove passed and we couldn't get out to take photos, but this time we took our time to see the statue of King Kamehameha, Iolani Palace across the road, which was King Kamehameha residence. The first palace to be build in the USA the grounds are beautiful and peaceful. Next door is the State Capitol building a fine piece of architecture surrounded by water (loads of fish) and fountains another peaceful building to sit and watch the world go by. Across the road is Washington Place and down the road from the King's statue is the cute little Kawaiah'o Church and a stone catholic church next door (the ringing bells were beautiful to listen). Took some photos and video.

Casually walking up Sth King Street to Chinatown checked out some shops, their markets. All just looked like being in an Asian country I think I would stick to buying my meat and chicken from a supermarket. A lot of the buildings are very old and looks like a seedy area to be in.

Ventured down to the Honolulu Harbour and took a photo of the Aloha Tower and the Aloha Marketplace. Very quiet must be the off season a lot of shops were vacate. Richard noticed Hooters and we took a couple of photos for Steve. Richard emailed one to Steve and asked if Pas could arrange a delivery for Fab to do. New account for Richard. Checked out the Pier where we went of the Pride of America in 2011 to cruise the Hawaiian Islands.

Our feet were starting to bark, caught the No.20 bus back to Ala Moana Shopping Centre for a late Yum Cha, latte's at our favourite café. Bought our cream pies for a snack later on.
