Still in the Badlands going to Regina

Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
Didn't sleep to well last night worried about the kms to drive today plus the noise from people outside and the noisy old wall air conditioner (ear plugs come in handy for times like this). The noises coming from the bathroom next door was too much for me couldn't lay in bed any longer got up washed my hair had a shower then Richard got up showered had breakfast. Packed everything up loaded the car (good exercised going up and down the stairs) put petrol in the tank $115.9 good price. Goodbye to Brooks.

the land is flat like yesterday still in the Badlands we don't know if all these pumps on the farms we pass are for water or gas. The highway has either high voltage power lines running close by or the railway line The boredom was broken when a goods train about a km long passed by us. The highway is still like a straight stretch of double lanes where you put the cruise control on 110km and steer the car. Like yesterday there is a steady stream of cars, semi trailers, 5th wheelers, etc but no cyclists. Lots of dead small animals by the roadside even saw a skunk.

Passed through lots of towns Medicine Hat is a big gas town and has the biggest tee pee in the world.  The countryside becomes hilly till Maple Creek then back to flat plains with hills in the distance. Back to wheat, maze, corn, lupin and cattle.    Didn't stop at one of the places Peter suggested (Cypress Hills where there is a massacre site I think) we have seen enough National Parks, lakes and waterfalls.

Richard had been driving for a couple of hours so we pulled over at Piapot petrol station went to the Washroom bought two coffees and Richard had a craving for potato chips. Ten minute rest and Richard finally let me drive (had to have the instructions on how to start and work the car plus drive on the righthand side of the road). Anyone would think I was a small child attending the first day of school. Driving on the other side of the road is a breeze got up to 116km like Richard put on cruise control and steered for the next two hours while Richard had a sleep.

Seeing I was driving there are no photos of Reed Lake at Morse the highway skirts around the lake (quite a large lake) and the salt lake at Chaplin where they bag the salt. Two hours driving was coming up for me and I pulled off the highway 38km from Morse Jaw where we had lunch.

Richard took over driving he was nice and refreshed from his little sleep and continued driving the last stretch to Regina Arrived tired after a long drive checked in Richard got a hotel luggage trolley took everything up in one hit and kept the trolley for tomorrow.   Couldn't book a room with kitchen thought it had a microwave only to find you use the one downstairs. Loaded the fridge with our food drove over to Saveway bought a cooked chicken, coleslaw and potato salad, two plates with free plastic forks, knifes and spoons.

Showered had a lovely dinner (better than the pizza) went online to Trip advisor sent three emails for suites with kitchens in Winnipeg and slept like a baby in a comfortable bed. Ear plugs for air conditioner that comes on and off all night.
