Rest day in Winnipeg

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Richard was a bit worried about the Pontiac seeing Janine said we needed to remove everything visible from the car including the GPS holder. Lucky the Pontiac was parked just below our unit and Richard could look out the window to check on it plus there is a carpark across the laneway with lights on all night. The neighbourhood doesn't look to good (very ethnic a lot of Africans and Indians plus the police were in the carpark of the block of units next door.

The air conditioner here is noisy like the only at Executive Royal Hotel so once again thank god for ear plugs. We both slept well even though it was hot and didn't wake till about 8am. At least the shower here is great nice soft flow of water. The unit is very old (1970 style) but well maintained in neutral colours and you have everything that you need except soap in the bathroom luck I had some spare.

Today is a leisure day to catch up on everything and have a rest so no sightseeing. Had breakfast caught up with Janine for correct money to do our washing. The laundry is in the basement like you see in the movies or one of the TV shows I was waiting for someone to jump out and kill me. Caught up with my blog so Phyllis will know where we are and so will everyone else. The Dryer took longer than expected Richard got a little worried when I hadn't returned. Clothes are ready for another weeks wear.

Nice to rest have coffee breaks watch a bit of TV and finally sorted our Expense File to the same order as my Excel Spreadsheet. Time passes quickly the worms are biting and it is time for lunch. Richard had a little cat nap while I was checking the Internet for accommodation for our next two stops. We were going to go straight to Thunder Bay but that is too far for one day nearly 700kms some eight hours driving so we broke it down to English River tomorrow and White River the next day.

Emailed three places and got a reply from English River Inn which had a good write up on Trip Advisor so we are booked in there tomorrow. Another B & B so breakfast is included and we can use their microwave and BBQ for cook dinner tomorrow night. Costs $75.71 which is good compared to the other places we have stayed at. Received an email from White River Motel and we are booked in there for the following night (they also had a good review on Trip Advisor) plus only cost $$95.00 including a kitchen.

Getting late drove to SuperStore to top up our supplies and filled the tank with petrol $127.9 so we don't have to stop tomorrow. Cooked two lots of rissoles one cold for tomorrow with microwave veggies and had one lot tonight with corn on cob.

Early night 10pm (ha! ha!) have the ear plugs ready for a good nights sleep. the temperature today was 30 degrees no wonder we were hot.
