Gee we sleep well here the 7am train that goes by is our alarm clock. Well it is raining and from the CNC News looks as though it won't improve. A lazy day relaxing at the motel caught up with yesterdays blog of the Cruise of the 30,000 islands which I thought I published only to find it vanished when we were having a lovely long chat with Linda and Bob in Florida. What you call "NOT HAPPY JAN" sent an email to Jacques at Travelpod Help as this happened once before and I had to re-enter the whole day's blog with photos. I don't want to do this again so I am waiting for a replyfrom Jacques and hopefully his Programmer can find the entry and put it back in my blog.
Was great talking to Linda and Bob caught up on a lot of news plus Bob emailed a few ideas of places to see from Niagara Falls to Halifax in Nova Scotia plus the best seafood restaurant called " Lavena's Catch Cafe," Freeport, Long Island, Nova Scotia it is on the Bay of Fundy, just south of Digby. Richard is already licking his lips. Bob loves fishing so we emailed him two photos one of Richard with a large Taylor and the other on the beach at Wilbinga where he is going to take Bob if and when they come to Australia.
We discussed with Bob and Linda of going on a Carribean Cruise next year on the Princess Line and spending some time with them so the boys can go fishing while Linda and I can do girl things. Linda said April was a good timeas the weather is nice not hot then plus it is before the hurricane season in June.
Linda said she mentioned to her Mum (Marg who we are going to see in Brampton) that we are coming but she only wears one of her hearing aids the batteries are flat. Recieved an email from Linda with Marg's address and phone number but Linda also gave me the Reception number to ring to arrange accommodations where Marg lives. We all agreed that it would be better to stay another day in Parry Sound as the traffic and roads to Toronto will be very busy.
Made Julie and Paul's day by staying another day at their motel plus they love listening to us talk the slang reminds them of Darwin. Julie let me use their phone to ring Providence Tower where Marg is to arrange three days accommodation there but the five family stay suites are booked so I will need to go online to booked something in Brampton. Plus when I asked Julie where the closest Laundramat was she said I could use the motel's machines which was really lovely of her.
Saw that Terry was online so tried to Skype him but with the bad weather reception was poor and we couldn't connect tried a few times but was unsuccessful. Left a video and text message on Skype. Terry sent a lovely email with news of what they had been doing plus the weather hasn't been good there just the same as here. Will try and catch up tomoorow if the weather is better.
Staying at the motel is lovely but we are drinking too much coffee, had lunch and seeing the weather was a little better we decided to drive up to Tower Hill for a view of Parry Sound.
The Fire Chief had his staff build the garden below the tower while they were lidle and not fighting fires. It was a bit frightening going up the tower you can see through the iron steps as you walk up. Once up the top you get blown away by the wind and it was difficult taking photos as there is a wire screen so you don't fall over the edge.
Wanted to go to the West Parry Sound District Museum but being a Long Weekend and public holiday it wasn't opened. Drove over the Parry Sound Mall but that was closed as well. went in the No Frills store and bought a few things. Richard wanted to go to the Canandian Tire store on the way back to the motel so while he was there I went into Sobeys across the carpark and bought some things I couldn't get at No Frills.
Finally made it back to the motel had a muffin and coffee while the washing was on. All nice and clean now for another week. Managed to BBQ the pork loin between showers Richard tried Skyping his mate Nick but left a video message for him.
Bedtime bye for now.
