I wanna go home laptop dead

Brampton, Ontario, Canada
Woke up early and tired Richard not talking Faith the cat is killing him he can't see and we both want to go home. God isn't being nice to us and I am a silly person for refreshing the laptop and having nearly all my APPS deleted. Both Marg and I left messages with Ben Prince getting desperate now. Not really hungry but had cereals. I made toast with peanut butter and jelly (jam) for Marg it's some American/Canadian thing sounds horrible but then I like half milk with half ginger beer and peanut butter with tomato, pepper and salt. They sound horrible but taste really great.

Morning ritual nurse came with Marg's medication and dressed her for the day. Richard stayed out on the balcony as there is cat fur everywhere in the unit and his eyes are getting worse. Slipped Marg's shopping list under Willy's door plus let her know we would be over at 3pm for afternoon tea with them and chased Faith down the corridor.

Rugged up and ran over to reception to see if there was anyone else in the building who could help me and there was so I raced back for my laptop but he couldn't do anything. Richard and I walked over to Y2K Computers at the little Shopping Centre next to Holland Christian Homes but they don't open till 11am. What torture one has to go through when where ever you turn the door is closed.

Went to the little café for coffee with Marg spoke to a Helper there and she suggested someone but they don't work there anymore then the lady from the convenience store spoke to the Director of the Homes and he didn't know of anyone. As it was 11am we took the laptop to Y2K Computers for them to try and retrieve as much as they could. While we were doing this Ben Prince was trying to contact us but we weren't in the unit plus at one stage Marg had the phone off the hook. Silly me should have given him my mobile number but being so stressed out I wasn't thinking straight. I Think the chap at Y2K Computers got tired of me ringing and checking how things were going he said to ring after 4pm or close to 8pm. What agony to go through for the whole of the day.

Richard was feeling closed in at Marg's unit so when left for lunch in the Dining Room we went for a long walk to the other big Shopping Centre. While there we had a Subway then being depressed we went to McDonald's Richard had Fries and I had an ice cream. The fresh air was good for us but we are beginning to hate Brampton where ever you look the town is now taken over by Indians and Pakistani's. It has changed a lot since I was here in 1999 Lindy said the town is being taken over no white Canadians there. I am sounding very naughty now but where ever you go even in Perth there are pockets of suburbia that are taken over by other nationalities.

Willy dropped off Marg's shopping (had to change the milk as we were leaving tomorrow and Marg didn't need 4 litres of milk). had to re-schedule Marg's physio as she missed her appointment I mentioned this to the afternoon nurse and she told me to see Reception to arrange for someone to call on Marg for her appointments.

Herb phoned (he took us back 1999 to Niagara Falls when Mum and I were visiting Marg and Stew at the Condo in Church St where Herb lives) and said he would drop by after we had dinner. Marg was going to take us to Swiss Chalet for dinner but she couldn't remember the lady's name at the Swiss Chalet so I rang Linda in Florida for her name (Julia) plus mentioned Marg needed a Whiteboard for either her or the nurses to write down her appointments. Linda said she has given her Mum a book abd calendar for that but Marg does her own thing and forgets where the book is also Linda said the Home wants to put Marg in the Nursing Home section which would kill Marg. She loves her cat Faith to much and would go kicking and screaming.  Marg wouldn't give up her independent living. I am so glad Mum had us three girls to be there for her and do everything it is difficult for Linda being so far away in Florida even though she rings nearly every day. We were about to go to Willy and Peter's unit across the hall when Marg's sister Florence and her husband Claude knocked on the door. It was lovely to catch up with them we talked about the last time I was there plus they wanted to know if Les had a new wife yet. I said I didn't know if he was up to number five yet or not and we all had a laugh. Anyway Florence wanted to come to the Swiss Chalet with us but Claude said they had been there a couple of days beforehand.

Willy came in to see when we were coming over and she didn't mind extra guest so we all had a lovely time chatting about anything and everything. It was a great afternoon one could forget about a laptop. The dutch nibbles Willy put out were really good.   Willy explained how Holland Christian Homes started many years when two Dutch businessmen want a place when the Dutch residence could retire when they got old. They bought marshland and started building with the help of the dutch people. Willy and Peter paid $500 at the beginning and years later decided to live there and were surprised they were at the top of the list to have a unit.

Time was marching on it was after 4pm and I wanted to ring Y2K Computers to see how things were going (they were still downloading the deleted programs it takes time to restore them) and I was told they would ring when the laptop was ready. Said our goodbyes to everyone the three of us weren't very hungry so we decided not to go to the Swiss Chalet we would have a pizza instead. Anyway I picked up a pizza a few doors down from the computer shop the girls there were lovely wanted to know all about Australia. Called in the computer shop and they were still re-installing and downloading the deleted programs said they would call when it was ready.

Didn't really enjoy the pizza but it was food to eat. The night nurse came before with Marg's medication (different lady every time they have a locked box with her medication and have to fill out forms to say Marg has her meds). Herb phoned and came around Richard went to bed and watched TV he wasn't very good company. We knew each other straight away and talked about the last time I was at Church Street and going to Niagara Falls.  I got out my Canada map and he showed me the route and places to see in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Just noticed the time and it was 8pm Y2K Computers shut at 8pm I rang and he said he was trying to get me but I never heard my mobile ring the bloody thing was in my pocket. Anyway I run all the way to their shop checked what they restored I have Skype back they couldn't retrieve Thunderbird for emails (have to go to Explorer now and logon Westnet site) or Microsoft 2013 but put Open Office3 on so I can do word documents and excel, lost Richards Ezy Station (sent email and now have link to download). I am sort of up and running now so one thing I will never do on the laptop is REFRESH plus I wish Geeks2U installed a restore program on the laptop as I could have recovered all the programs deleted.

The laptop cost me $90.00 to repair but I think I will get Ben Prince to fine tune the laptop when we go back to Marg's after being at Niagara Falls.

It was late when I got back Herb had left and Marg was ready for bed I made up the chesterfield for her. Sat up for a bit longer and sent an email to Westnet but the support team need to be able to speak to me to do a remote connection on my laptop to re-install my email addresses. This I could probably do by Skyping John he ring Westnet and put them on loud speaker.

Too tired to do anymore had a shower and went to bed Marg was asleep and I covered her up and kissed her goodnight like I used to do to Mum when she stayed with us.
