Goodbyes are hard last day with Marg

Brampton, Ontario, Canada
Couldn't sleep well last night knowing today might be our last day with Marg also not quite knowing where we were going to be sleeping for the next few nights. Got up and Marg was awake too she had a restless sleep as well. Put the kettle on and we had our usual morning coffee together while watching the news on TV. Took in a coffee to Richard at 7am before we showered and prepared to pack and leave. We all had breakfast in silents before the morning nurse came with Marg's medication and showered dressed her for the day. Richard could see I was upset and he sacrificed his swollen eyes and allergies for me and said to stay another day with Marg which made all of us happy.

With another day in Brampton it made booking accommodations a lot easier as some places were booked for one of the days we wanted to be there. I was sending emails back and forward to Barry's Bay Cottage Resort and finally confirmed a cabin there with WIFI then at 9am I rang Parkway Cottage Resort in Oxtongue Lake and booked in there so now we have two accommodations booked. Also had a rally of emails from Ottawa through Trip Advisor and I finally snagged one there even though I had to pay upfront a $300.00 refundable damage deposit and $45.00 cleaning fee (boy do some holiday rentals know how to charge). Catherine who owns the apartment is away on business so I have a delay with emails to her.

Started booking for Montreal and at least there the apartments are a lot cheaper I found one a tiny Bachelor apartment 15 mins from downtown Montreal Yannick Hauptmann the Owner emailed back straight away (WIFI and free parking $52 a night) but the only problem is the first night we arrive in Montreal is booked so we have a problem. All the other apartments on Trip Advisor are over $100.00 a night some with cleaning fees and damage deposits. Waiting for answer from one that is $60.00 if we can't get that one we will go with the Bachelor apartment and find a one night cheapy.

Went down to the basement where the Tower Nurse is stationed to see about Marg getting her toenails done (she missed her appointments and went elsewhere but had her fingernails and hair done instead). Got the name of a nurse who used to work there but now does manicures as her business and comes to your home. Morning tea at Faith Manor and met some more of Marg's
friends plus saw others who were surprised we were still there said we couldn't leave Marg and they understood, as everyone knows Marg is getting worse as the months go by.

Bought some more milk from Sonya's and yes she was also surprised we were still there plus stirred us up by saying she met Ben Prins and he mentioned I had left messages everywhere for him yesterday. Told her the laptop is now okay and Brampton is a jinks to us.

The wind was very cold outside and Richard got our jackets from the car (it was hot when we first arrived a couple of days ago). When we got back to Marg's apartment there was a note to say she missed her massage/therapy appointment so I rang and left a message by got no reply that day. I put their number on Marg's calendar for next Friday (the lady who called in the other day was meant to leave a calendar schedule for Marg to pin on the door).

As usual Marg went to Faith Manor for her hot lunch and we had ours. Marg has lots of friends that ring or pop in to see her which is good and we get to meet them. Today at 4.30pm she is going back to Church Street where her condo is, as they are having a BBQ which they do quite often. Marg was dressed and ready by 3.00pm with her wine, plate, utensils and glass for the BBQ.   Joyce and her husband from Church St are taking Marg there and back (hope she doesn't get too depressed when she is there and want to go back). Met Joyce and her husband they will have Marg back by 8.00pm.   A horrible thing to say but it was nice when Marg finally went to the BBQ as it meant we weren't repeatedly asked to go to the BBQ or Marg was going to the BBQ. Memory lost is a horrible thing and we hope we don't get it in our old age prefer to go our in my sleep short and quick with no pain.

While Marg was cat napping I was busy on the laptop sending booking inquiries to the Montreal Trip Advisor vacation rentals I was interested in now the waiting game of when they will reply. We are keeping the Bachelor apartment open as a last resort. Going brain dead from looking and reading reviews on Trip Advisor as well as other sites on Google wish people just advertised in one spot making it easy for old farts like me who are not computer minded.

Linda rang and I gave her an update on the bookings as she and Bob were a bit worried of where we were going to stay. Only have Quebec to do so that will have to wait till we get to Barry's Bay and I won't be able to respond to any emails if I don't have an answer by tomorrow morning till we arrive at Oxtongue and I can go to the Library.

We had the leftover Chinese food for dinner was lovely. Marg came back at 8.00pm missed the night nurse and can only have her night pills not pre-dinner. She had a good time catching up with her friends I think she said over 50 people from the condo complex went to the BBQ (it ended up under cover as it was very cold).

It was getting late I made up the Chesterfield for Marg and we said our good nights.
