Oxtongue Lake, Ontario, Canada
Bad nights sleep last night knowing today I say goodbye to Marg probably for the last time I don't know what she will be like on the phone talking as long as she doesn't loose or forget to put batteries in her hearing aids.

Made our cups of coffee and watched the news together for the last time. Covered Marg with a blanket as it was cold this morning took Richard a cup of coffee. This time we are leaving and Marg is upset she keeps on going to the bathroom I think to have a little cry. We try not to disturb her by quickly packing and getting everything ready for the car.

Checked the emails paid Catherine (Ottawa condo) by PayPal don't like paying that way if we have to pay a damage fee like $300.00 with $45.00 cleaning fee what can you dirty in three nights sleeping there. Our Aussie dollar isn't that fantastic at the moment and I would much prefer to pay by our Passport MasterCard like I have done across Canada which is loaded with Canadian dollars. Our Visa Zero MasterCards get a hammer with the exchange rate I am glad with BankWest we don't pay international or any other fees.

We both give Marg a big hug and kisses before we leave. Today being Saturday is when some of the residences from Providence Tower go downstairs to their front Sitting Room for morning tea. I say my goodbyes to some of Marg's friends and warn them Marg may be very upset when she finally comes down for morning tea.

Richard has keyed in the closest Walmart Superstore for us to stock up for the next week but I think Jill sent us out in the sticks on Mississauga Road to one of the many new Estates (7.2kms from Marg's is a long way). On the way we can't seem to get away from the bumble bee cones and roadworks. Jill found a Shell Station for us $1.286 good price as it was $132.9 everywhere
else.

On our way now but I went brain dead sent Richard down Hwy 407 west (Express Toll Route) instead of the next turn up Hwy 407 east. Just did a short detour to the next bridge and we were on the right way to start our journey to Oxtongue Lake. The land around Brampton is flat you can see for miles even Toronto 50kms away the tall building and the CN Tower.

Well we are back to the same old scenery tall high tension power lines everywhere. Now we are on Hwy 400 a five lane highway not that busy at the moment. On the right I saw the big Bass Pro Shop Richard wanted to go to and have a look for a Buzz Bomb lure and Zebass reel. Turned off at the next bridge and went back it is part of the Vaughan Mills Centre looks like a big Factory Outlet for expensive clothing and goods. Wonderworld is across the road a big Roller coaster Entertainment Centre. Richards friend Paul would love it the ride looks a bit too high and frightening for me.

The Pro Bass Shop inside is unbelievable we have nothing like it in Australia the only problem is it is very expensive and is a tourist destination plus it didn't have what Richard was looking for only cheap rods over priced. Richard was very disappointed can do better in Perth or on the Internet.

Back onto Hwy 400 this was the highway we came in on from Parry Sound via Midland. Back to the views of forests, corn, soybean, veggies lots of towns even saw some cattle. At Barrie the highway changed to two lanes on Hwy 11 to Huntsville and it is mainly forest and lakes now. Saw a big Boat and Caravan Auction at Oro-Modonte (I think) just before Orillia near Lake Simcoe.

Getting hungry now going through North Orillia and seeing I didn't make lunch (no bread or meat/cheese fillings) we saw a long line of people at Charcoal BBQ Weber Hamburgers and decided to have lunch there. Should have gone next door to Subway then Tim Horton's for a donut for Richard and muffin for me a lot healthy than the hamburger. Hungry Jacks would beat it hands down and I don't eat them. Passing Lake Couchening lots of cabins and boats, canoes on the shoreline this lake goes into Lake Simcoe. Along Hwy 11 is lots of towns, lakes rivers, forest scenery we are so used to now as well as the minor roadworks and bridge repairs near Muskoka and Bracebridge.

Huntsville is a good size town on Fairy Lake and we turn right onto Hwy 60 to Oxtongue Lake. There are many hotels, motels, cabins and camping grounds along Fairy Lake and of course Golf Course Resorts and the forest.

You wouldn't believe it but the bridge just before the Parkway Cottage Resort & General Store & Gas is being repaired. One way with stop lights!!! The little cabin is nice pity there is no WIFI and TV but the electric fire keeps the cabin nice and warm.

Met the English owners by the lakeside and had a long chat to them about the sights to see and Canada being so far behind with technology. They took a long time to get dial-up Internet and Bell won't put them on broadband which is at their front door because it is too expensive for Bell they have to wait and have it come across the lake. How stupid.

The cabin is very basic had to go to their office (the Trading Post) to get towels, they don't supply tea or coffee for coffee machine but you do get a small bar of soap, with tiny toiletries. I am glad I have shampoo from another place we stayed at to wash my hair. A bit silly to have conditioner and no shampoo sorry to winge Richard.

The BBQ burnt the skin on the chicken legs (another winge) but the meat was lovely and juicy just had to remove the charcoal burnt skin. Dinner was lovely with fresh pineapple for dessert.

The shower was great the rose was in the wall with a lovely spray nice and hot. Richard listened to the radio in bed while I did the blog as a word document till I can cut and paste in the blog when I have WIFI at Barry's Bay. All the photos are downloaded ready for the blog.

Bed and a good nights rest in a dark quiet tiny room.
