Riviere du Loup, Quebec, Canada
Bed is hard as a rock and the floor heater is less than a foot from my side of the bed tight squeeze when I go to the toilet during the night. The heat wakes me and all the covers are thrown off till I cool down so I had a very restless sleep. Turned the heat control off next to the door but it was the one for the lounge area Richard found the bedroom one this morning when he woke up.

I had enough of bed and went online at 6am to finish my download on the blog and start finding
accommodations in Campbellton in New Brunswick. Richard stirred at 6.45am and I made our morning coffee which we had in bed and Richard checked the distance to Campbellton on his ipad only about 160kms away. So tomorrow we can have morning tea at Rimourski do some
sightseeing before going to Campbellton.

Still checking for accommodations online when I noticed Gerard was online so I skyped him and he and Richard discussed the Grand Final that the Dockers gave away. Next year will be their year. It's good talking on Skype we talk for over thirty minutes and it costs nothing the time goes quickly but the Internet connection here is very weak and poor Gerard got kicked off twice and the third time we gave up. Had breakfast while talking to Gerard then we had our showers Richard was trying to get on his ipad when I went to Reception to get some brochures on what to see in Riviere-Du-Loup. Christina (lovely french lady) showed me on the map some places to to see plus gave me brochures on Riviere-Du-Loup as well as Rimourski.

Armed with the brochures I took some photos and video of the Motel and our Chalet then we were off for the day. The map was easy to follow Richard was in Noddyland and we missed Noel Au Chateau but we will see that on the way back. Headed down to the Marina and Ferry Terminal watched some men fishing looked out across the Saint Lawrence River could see either dolphins or seals in the distant don't think they are whales. The Marina is nothing special as we have seen so many Marina's and Ferry Terminals all over Canada they start looking the same but I took photos and videos. Richard was parked near a home that looked as though it had the shell just dropped there interesting how they build their homes.

Pulled over on the hill to view the Noel Au Chateau and take a photo then drove down to have a look. If Denise was alive she would be in her element with all the Christmas decorations it is called “the Land of Santa Claus”. Looked at the map for the next point of interest on Hwy 132 drove a distance and then decided to go back as we will be travelling this way tomorrow and we can see the sights then. Stopped at a lookout point and walked along the boardwalk with a beautiful view of Saint Lawrence River could see the Lighthouse on the point at I'ile Verte. Terry and Diana would love this area lots of places to go hiking and canoeing.

Drove back to the town but missed the turn to Le Parc Des Chutes but we saw many lovely old homes and buildings got lost. Saw a bank and we were low on cash so pulled over there then had Jill to take us back to the chalet. We looked at the photo of the waterfall naughty thing to say but it looked just like another high (33mtr) waterfall.

On our way to the chalet we saw the Centre Commercial Shopping Centre so pulled in there for morning tea. Walked through SuperC Supermarket saw some specials will come back there later went in the centre but the shops don't open till 12 noon (15 minutes away). Dollarama was open so I was able to buy a plastic salad bowl to replace the one I melted in the microwave. The little coffee center shop were open so we had coffee Richard of course a Croissant and me a muffin then at 12 we looked at the centre from one end to the other. Stopped at SuperC on the way back to the car bought three pineapples for $5.00 and Richard wanted two cakes as he has a sweet tooth. Relaxed at the chalet had Mozzarella Cheese sandwich with free pineapple slices for lunch. Richard checked his stares and charts on the laptop then had a catnap while I continued to look for accommodations. Not many vacation rentals with kitchens in or around Campbellton moved onto Bathurst and found two places woke Richard as he had slept long enough and we discussed what to do. Richard checked the GPS for the distance to Bathurst 250kms and we could do that in a day.

So tomorrow we will leave after 8.00am drive to Rimourski for morning tea do some sightseeing then drive to Campbellton to stop at the Information Centre for brochures on New Brunswick also have a look around then drive to Bathurst. I sent an email to Patty's Beach Chalets just passed Bathurst on the Bay of Chaleur.

While I was on the Internet I saw Terry was online so I skyped him (did that earlier today and left video message) and I actually got him we had a lovely conversation and caught up on a lot of news. Thirty minutes later we were still talking but the Internet connection was getting weak had to turn the video off but the band dropped to one and we said our goodbyes. Terry is going to email us his son's email address as he lives in Halifax and might know some places for us to see in Nova Scotia.

Easy dinner tonight just heated the chicken and rice cooked the corn on cob and had salad. Enjoyed the corn on the porch looking over the river. Ate the last of the pineapple Richard had his cake relaxed in front of TV I checked the emails no reply from Patty's Beach Chalet finished blog document before going to bed.
