Rainy restful day at Hopewell Cape

Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick, Canada

The king size bed was so comfy last night the only thing was we had to put our blinkers on as the cream drapes did not block out the light plus the connecting door (I think) to the suite next door the night owl had the light on all night till when I got up at my usual 6.00am. The lady was asleep when we were taking our things in yesterday afternoon at 5.00pm. Bit hard here doing the blog as I had to get the bedside lamp and put it next to the little table and chairs at the front window which is the only stop I can use the laptop. As I mentioned yesterday this is a open plan studio so when I turn the light on it shines in Richards eyes. No good and that is another reason why he has his eyes covered.

Continued doing a bit if the blog this morning while enjoying the red sky over the Bay of Fundy the tide is out at the moment. Richard woke up and watched the red sky before the clouds set in as well as the bad weather so looks like walking on the ocean floor is out today and if it doesn't fine up by 12 noon the tide comes in and we miss the walk till tomorrow.

Richard is getting good at making the coffee but here it is a different way of doing the filtered coffee. The milk is rationed this morning as we forgot to get some yesterday so there is only milk for our cereals I will have Coffeemate in my filtered coffee. Had our showers but the weather hadn't changed turned on the TV to watch the news and weather and walking on the ocean floor is out today the weather will be better tomorrow so we will be up early to be at Hopewell Rocks by 9.00am when the tide is out and we have three hours to walk round the coast section on the
ocean floor before the tide comes back in. There is a time schedule at Flower Pot Rocks where you take the stairs down to the shoreline.

Richard was on his ipad looking at cars plus checking sites to sell the Pontia in Halifax we should be able to get a good price for the car and you know Richard is the best salesperson around. I spent the morning doing the blog and going back and forth with emails to Catherine (Ottawa condo Dawn's meltdown WIFI) to get our $300.00 security refund. Richard said she hasn't got the money and is making excuses for not being able to transfer the money to our MasterCard I am going to check with Wendy here to see if she deals with PayPal payments before I reject the $300 that she said she sent us so she can resend it again.

The morning is passing by plus there is no more milk so we take a drive to Hillsborough which is the closest Valufoods Market for milk, cereals and naturally Richard's chicken legs (I wonder when he will tigher of them). Ventured over to the Information Centre for tide schedules, no brochures of the area for me to know about the sights we have looked at but the lovely lady
mentioned to go to the Bog tomorrow to watch the surfers ride the tide in at 1.00pm. There is a park on the other side of Bridge Pont in Dieppe where you have a good view plus she rang Hopewell Rocks for the tide times for us as well as drop off some history about the area around Bay of Fundy where we are staying and saw yesterday.

Dropped off the cold food at the suite before we drove to Hopewell Rocks for a quick view of what we will see and do tomorrow need to get there before 12 noon when the tide comes in to the height of 15 metres the highest tides in the world.   Just made it to see Diamond Rock and Flower Pods Rock before the tide came in watched the people below and at 11.55am everyone had to climb up the stairs as the tide was coming in. Took some photos and video dieing for tomorrow to come so we can walk where everyone was walking today they looked like little ants on the rocky/sandy ocean floor. The wind goes right through you so will have to rug up tomorrow just in case it is cold.

Checked out the Restaurant if there was any cakes for afternoon tea but none looked appertising enough to buy. Saw some waterproof windjackets on sale but none our size only big ones left for big people. We are only five minutes away from the rocks which is good for our early start tomorrow. Went back for lunch and retired for the day weather cold and miserable to do anything so will rest and do todays blog, rest and catch up on things.

Richard had a cat-nap while I went upstairs to see Wendy about exact places to stay on Nova Scotia so I can start booking, plus get some more filtered coffee for Richard and I will see her tomorrow when she has time about PayPal before I do anything with Catherine. I am getting sick of emails to her and PayPal.

When Richard woke up he went for a walk down to the spruce and maple trees near the sea marshlands at the back of where we are staying. This is the view we have from our suite where Wendy's property goes right down to the Petitcodiac River Richard couldn't walk through the bog and the mosquitoes were attacking him.

I put dinner on thought I would roast the chicken legs (not to set the smoke alarm off) to have with the microwave rice and veggies. Lovely dinner and no mess. The Jacuzzi is starting to look good so we had a relaxing bubble bath watching TV. The two of us being little have no problem lying sid by side in the Jacuzzi Richard nearly drowned when he tried turning on his side to get the jets on his back. It was so funny that the both of us nearly went under the bubbles hope the new people next door don't hear us. They were very quiet when they used their Jacuzzi. The only thing about spa's is you have to shower afterwards to cool down or get out hot and sweaty and stand in front of the fan which we did.

After looking at the map of Nova Scotia and dicussing the places we may go to I went online to book one night stop over in Pictou on the coast of Nova Scotia before we go on to Cape Breton Island for four nights. Trip Advisor had a cheap Inn (The Lionstone Inn Motel & Cottages) so I booked a night through Booking.com and started looking online at Cape Breton Tourism for places to see and cottages. It late night and I am tired of the laptop and Richard has had enough of TV and his ipad. The king size bed is looking good.
