Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada
Another beautiful day in paradise it's like looking at a framed picture when you wake up in the morning and look out the window. So still and peaceful there is ice on the roof of night. We were snug as a bug in bed the cottage is lovely and warm you wear summer clothes inside but need a jacket when you go outside.

Thought I had better get up and make a move as it is 7.00am washed my hair, showered and started the packing. Richard was up just after me good boy put on the last of the filtered coffee and washed the ice of the car roof. Had our breakfast made lunch and flask of coffee Richard went online to check emails, etc. I had another look for cottages around the Wolfville area but gave up in frustration all over $120.00 and when you include tax it's up to $140.00 or so a night. Will look again when we get to Truro as time is marching on and I think we have a distance of some 350kms to travel this morning.

Said goodbye to our Hosts handed back the key and said we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but didn't get to look on the webcam of the view from our cottage. You can do this to is live 24 hours a day just go to View of the sea cottages. Started our journey on hwy105 and retraced our steps back to Canso Causeway to Nova Scotia topped up the tank at Irving Petrol Station Baddeck $127.3. Very busy today it's Thanks Giving and Tim Horton's next door is doing a roaring trade the Drive Through is banked up and I was at the start of a long queue behind me. For two small cups of coffee where in Australia can you get a regular black and French vanilla for $3.25.

We always think of Julie and Bill when we have a coffee at Tim Horton's as the coffee is so hot it burns your tongue and that is how they like it. They always send their coffee back because it is warm by the time it gets to the table. Traffic is now busy on the highway and we are coasting along listening to classical music looking a panoramic views of lakes, mountains and Acadian forests. Had a manic behind then in front overtaking on near double lines must be late for Thanks Giving lunch.

First roadworks to bring us to a holt at Exit 3 for River Denys the road is being resurfaced. Richard did his usual and missed the turn at the round about to Canso Causeway did a back track and we were on our way again. On Hwy104W now so “Goodbye to Cape Breton Island” thoroughly enjoyed the Cabot Trail and now we are back in Nova Scotia on the same highway we came in on. This listening to the classical music enjoying the scenery we saw going to Cape Breton Island. Richard is letting all the impatient drivers overtake us, they love tailgating and can't wait to overtake you. We are doing just over the speed limit of 100kms not 120kms like the other cars way up in front. Traffic is still busy went from single to dual highway now at Antigonish and the horns have come out Richard has turned into a mad Canadian driver till I gave him one of Mothers looks plus we have gone back to a single lane highway.

For the third time we have passed the same Winnebago. While in the car I have been checking the Nova Scotia travel Guide for cottages in Wolfville, Kentville, Berwick and Digby areas. I will go online when we reach The Super 8 Motel in Truro to look at what I have ticked off plus there is a Information Centre down the road from the motel. One of the maniac's who flew past us just got booked saw the two cop cars in the distance. On the news they said the police would be out in force this Thanks Giving long weekend.

Getting closer now to turn off Hwy 104W as we are passing the turn offs to New Glasgow back on the dual highway and the speed limit is 110kms. Passing familiar sights where we stopped for tea breaks and lunch. The red colours are now starting to show on the sugar maples and we saw our second dead deer this afternoon. After Exit 22 we are travelling through very low clouds looks like fog now. The road is still busy both ways as we enter Colchester Provence where we paid a toll to travel on a certain section of their highway. With the altitude you are forever swallowing to clear your ears. Bible Hill Exit 17 coming up thinking of Julie and bill again “Praise the Lord”. At Exit 15 we turn to Hwy102S for Truro and there is another dead deer on the other side of the dual highway. That is why we don't go out at night the moose and deer are active form dusk onwards till dawn.

Just a couple more turns and we are at Super 8 Motel it is just off the highway. Good news when we booked in Tanya at Reception upgraded us to the Junior Suite at the same price so we have a lounge, fridge, microwave separate bathroom and bedroom with flat screen TV. Settled in for the afternoon I went online and found a nice cottage in Wolfville $119.00 for a night NO TAX so two nights booked there. Moved on to Digby which is proving to be a bit more difficult missed the cottage I really wanted so hope the one I booked is okay. Jeannie on Nova Scotia.com was of no help (can type to each other online I did this when booking Hawaii and LA Hotels). While I was doing this Richard had a little rest after the long drive. Left a video Skype message to Terry he must be on his ipad.

Tanya at Reception gave us a Menu for a Thanks Giving dinner at Saltscapes so we went there for a turkey and pumpkin pie dinner was very nice and we got the last turkey with cranberry sauce seeing we were from Australia. They we so honoured to have Aussies there and all the staff were fantastic and very friendly. Quite cool outside did a quick brisk walk back to the motel as the Saltscapes Restaurant was only down the road.

We got ready for bed I did the blog and we retired to bed watching TV.
