Day at the Used Car Yard

Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada
Oh it is so nice to have a comfy bed like sleeping at home had a peaceful sleep till about 3.30am when Richards little nose woke me up. Snoring his box off had to be mean and tell him to be quiet a gentle shove did nothing. Slept in till after 7.00am all refreshed relaxed with a filtered coffee before having a shower and going downstairs for our buffet breakfast.

Staff are very friendly and helpful young lass at Reception gave me a list of used Car Yards in Dartmouth and the closest Car Wash. The buffet breakfast was very simple fruit juice, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, muffins, scramble eggs, little sausages, hash browns, toast with tea and coffee. We found it interesting watching other people have their little pig outs we just had what we would normally eat. Wish I remembered about the buffet breakfast beforehand because we wouldn't have bought fruit and 4lt milk.

Jill took us to Ultramar Car Wash which wasn't that far away and now the car is lovely and clean then the next stop was navigating the highways to O'Reagan Used Car Dealers. Boy are we glad it is not raining today because the highways are highways that merge and go into other highways. You really have to concentrate and watch for the off ramps to exit to another highway. Thankfully we made it without killing each other and no missing exits.

We found out O'Reagan is the largest dealers so guest what the price won't be crash hot you know what Used Car Dealers are like. They checked the car out is it is good only one thing to fix but the problem is there are two checks Outer Province and local Nova Scotia licensing something we didn't really know till the owner of Clifty Cove Motel told us.

The Registration Papers in BC are different to Nova Scotia tried ringing GM Burnaby in BC but there is a four hour difference so will have to ring Leah (who sold us the Pontiac) later when we go back to the hotel. The Manager at O'Reagan was really great said for us to have a think and they can have everything done before we leave the hotel on Thursday.

Thought we would try Wanda and Terry the couple we emailed about helping us with the car (Terry owns a car yard). They used to run a B&B and we were given their name from a lady we met in Banff at the Old Entrance B 'n B Cabins. Terry we thought was a bit of a crook he checked the Pontiac over back gave us a price much lower than O'Reagan so we thanked him and went. It was a nice drive out there they live in a outer suburb of Dartmouth back in the lakes and forest scenery.

Phoned Leah in Burnaby she was great rang O'Reagan and let us know their price was reasonable seeing the two vehicle inspections plus repairs will cost them about $1,000.00 so we might have to bite the bullet and go with them can't wait forever plus we have had a good run with the car.

Had no problems maneuvering the highways back to the hotel for lunch and a rest plus redo the car adverts, check emails before going out again down Commodore Drive to the local shopping centre to Walmart for two frozen meals for the next two nights with veggies. Stopped off at Tim Horton's near the Best Western Hotel for afternoon tea and then back to the hotel.

Richard soaked in the bath to warm up because the weather is freezing cold here it is going to be zero overnight. I am afraid the Shepherds Pie is no where near as good as mine but you can't complain when you only have a microwave. Dessert was cereals with fruit and milk, need to use the milk seeing we have a buffet breakfast.

Relaxed in front of TV before bed it was nice to have a relaxing day with nothing to do or be on the run. But tomorrow will probably be different Halifax here we come to explore.
