Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th Street, Florida, United States
Once cleared by Customs we dropped off our luggage to go onto the Dallas flight to Fort Lauderdale, then we checked in for our flight. All we seem to do was to be changing our watchers with all the different time zones we were going through. As we arrived in Dallas after 3 o'clock will feeling a bit hungry and trying to find some healthy food was a very successful and everything was either very greasy or fattening. The only healthy food I could find was fruit so we settled on a banana each to eat while waiting for our flight.
I noticed on our QF4365 boarding pass our seating arrangement wasn’t right Richard was on one side of the plane and I was on the other. Not very happy with the Qantas lady from Perth should have known we should have been sitting together I spoke to the lady at the counter and she said as this was a fully booked flight I would have to ask a passenger on the plane if I could swap seats. As the plane was running very late we were waiting for the last two passengers to arrive luckily they were the two seats where I was meant to be I had no problems in changing seats as they were good friends and didn’t mind.
Richard and I were so tired we were asleep when the plane taxied out onto the tarmac we were both asleep when the plane took off. So far we have been flying and waiting at airports for over 20 hours and we are on the last legs of a three hour flight to Fort Lauderdale. Time passed very quickly seeing we slept most of the way to Fort Lauderdale. One thing with the American Airline you have to pay for your food and drinks so everybody buys food and drinks before they board the plane.
There was a bit of turbulence on the flight and we had a very bumpy landing with a fast pull up. The humidity hit us once we exited the plane. Joined everyone else in trying to find the baggage carousel to collect our two suitcases.
Outside airport is very busy we join the queue at the taxi stand to get a taxi to take us to the Embassy Suites. Had a very unsociable taxi driver but it was a quiet quick trip to the hotel at least with him we just had to pay the correct fare of $14 didn’t seem to want a tip.
It’s nearly 8:30pm and the staff at reception are not too friendly but we do get a nice lady (not very talkative) but we do get a room high up on the 11th floor Suite 1127 consists of two rooms, lounge dining with fridge, microwave and tea and coffee facilities, nice size bedroom small bathroom. At the back of the hotel with a view of the shopping centre. Seeing we hadn’t had dinner we went over to the shopping centre to the supermarket to buy something for dinner and we only had one minute left in the chap let us through the exit entry to grab a chicken and salad.
Quick shower and bed to die.
