After
an exhausting 24 hours of flying and being in transit we slept in and missed
breakfast which closed at 9am. Bought two bowls of Special K cereal and milk at
the Publix Supermarket which we had in our suite with a cup of coffee.
The
morning passed very quickly we checked out of the hotel put our bags in the
baggage storage area and spent an exhausting morning going to different shops
trying to find a US AT&T SIM card for my mobile phone.
Met
some lovely American couples that were also going on the same Caribbean cruise
as us and luckily they informed us about the boarding times for the cruise
before going by shuttle to Port Everglades where the Princess Line is.
Apparently there was a very bad gastrointestinal virus that went through the
ship and it had to be completely sterilised before leaving the Port.
With
4500 passengers on the Royal Princess we felt like cattle being herded into the paddock. We snaked our way
through reservations, received all of our documentation, had our carry-on
luggage scanned past security and finally onto the cruise ship.
It
was well after 4pm before we entered our balcony suite A443 on Aloha Deck 12
starboard side. As we hadn’t eaten since our late breakfast we were dying of
starvation we went out to deck 16 Horizon Court and had a quick salad and
chicken for lunch before our boat drill.
Unpack
our cases for our 20 day Caribbean cruise before exploring the cruise ship.
Went down to Deck 6 to the Information Desk to check on the price for Wi-Fi Internet
on the ship (very expensive) and also on our $100 on board credit only to find
that Bicton Travel had not forward this documentation on to the Princess Cruise
Line. After showing the lady the Bicton Travel email on my laptop referring to
the on board credit she then sent an email to Bicton Travel to ask for the
documentation so we could have our on-board credit
Being
very tired we had our evening meal and retired to our balcony suite for the
night.
