Caribbean Sea
Woke to a view of blue sky, white fluffy clouds and a calm ocean. Leisurely breakfast at the Horizon Bistro before venturing out to the pool area for a bit of people watching, swimming and watching movies on the outdoor screen while in the Spa to pass the day away at sea.
Today when we reach the south east tip of Cuba we will enter the traffic separation scheme (containers ships, oil tanks we see in the distance) will change to a north westerly course as we make our way through the Old Bahamas channel. Once clear of this channel we will go in a more northerly course through the Santaren Channel and overnight maintain a northerly course up the Straits of Florida before the final approach to Port Everglades Fort Lauderdale. We have noticed on-board about 80% of the people are grossly obese, 10% obese and the rest are health eaters who look after their bodies. The sights you see around the pool are cardiac arrest candidates lounging in or around the pools/spas.Last full day of the 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise I thought it was Eastern. A majority of the passengers on board will be departing tomorrow so there will be a new crowd of passengers joining the next Western Caribbean cruise tomorrow when the Royal Princess docks at Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale.Tonight for a change we dressed for dinner instead of our usual casual clothes. Normal routine down to the Atrium “In the Piazza” to watch the passenger’s talent show then choir sing not bad and a bit different seeing the cruise entertainers were having the night off. Nice quiet night as a large percentage of the passengers were ending their holiday and packing to leave tomorrow.
