Leisure day at Princess Cays on last day of cruise

Princess Cays, South Eleuthera, Bahamas
The sea had a good swell last night and we were hoping it was calm at Princess Cays and the Royal Princess didn’t pass the island due to the swell, but luckily the wind dropped and the sea was calm. The ship dropped anchor around 9am and shortly after we watched the Tenders being lowered to check if it was safe to provide a continuous tender service ashore for the day.
As usual Aurel brought us a bowl of raw nuts for the day when he spotted us having breakfast with a lovely Canadian couple from British Columbia they live a couple of miles from the US border.
Seeing the bulk of passengers had already gone ashore it was quick and easy for us to get on a Tender and spend a couple of hours on the beach. Secured an unoccupied Cabana next to an English couple by the water’s edge. The husband grew up and went to the same clubs as Richard (in his younger years) when he lived in Brighton.
Richard has photo and video of me swimming in the ocean, the water is crystal clear and safe to swim with a Life Guard on duty. Time marched by quickly and it was time to catch a Tender back to the cruise ship. After taking some photos we joined the long queue and were back at the Gangway in no time and thankfully the sea was calm not rough like the first time we visited the island on 10th March.
Tomorrow our extended 30 days cruise of the Caribbean ends and we will be back in Fort Lauderdale for 4 days before starting our 15 day Panama Cruise, it’s amazing we haven’t got sick of cruising on the high seas.
After a very late lunch I started packing, did the last load of washing at the Laundrette down the hall and this time my blue three-quarter pants decided to run and there was blue dye on Richard’s white T-shirt, my hat and spots on some of the coloured clothes. I shouldn’t have tried to spot clean the pants beforehand as that started the problem.
Last late dinner in the Concerto Dining Room, it’s very busy tonight being the last night. Said our goodbyes to the dining staff we got to know before getting our last peppermint tea, which we drank in our Stateroom.
Our cases are packed and outside the cabin door by 10pm for the Porters to take and it is time for bed.
