San Jose, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands
Well, after another van rocking gale last night, we woke to a grey, windy day but at least the wind had calmed down a bit. As we were late waking we spent the morning cleaning the inside of our tin can on wheels, no breakfast but by the time we'd finished it was lunchtime.

Mike had been out and chatted to the guy in the English van next door who declared that it hadn't been such a bad night to which Mike replied "maybe not for you but that's because we were protecting you from the wind" . We'd been on the end of a row and had taken the brunt of the wind. If we were going to stay tonight then we'd have to move so we were sheltered by some other poor soul! That we've now done.

Also while he was out Mike got talking to a Frenchman who, it turned out, came fro Pre en Pail, talk about a small world.

Lunch of salad, wine and coffee over a walk was in order - well, more a battle with the wind which had risen to gale force level again.

San José is a pretty place, all white and beige buildings, up hill and down dale with narrow streets.

Right now it's a quiet place but I expect it's a lot busier in summer but even then it seems to be one of those seaside places without all of the razzamatazz of bigger places - no games arcades etc although there is a jazz bar down the road.

We walked along the prom to the marina, the beach is a lovely sandy beach, empty and lonely . Plenty of restaurants, roughly half of them open. Prices seemed reasonable as have most of the seaside ones we've seen. Most of the shops seem to be seasonal and are closed apart from the normal supermarkets and pharmacies.

We've enjoyed our walk even with the rough winds and now we're getting rocked about even though we're the filling in a sandwich! Goodness only what tonight will be like! The sky's a funny, yellowish colour out there - yuk!

We've just spent an extremely frustrating hour or more trying to get to our online banking, using up our precious gigabytes on our mifi but we got there in the end.

We've been in Spain 15 days now and we haven't been in a Chinese/Asian shop yet!
