N 36.708012 W 2.809170 - ALMERIMAR - 7.50€/24 hrs

Woke up to a lovely sunny day and for the first time in ages no gales rocking the van. We weren't disturbed by the aircraft taking off and landing at Almeria airport which is not far from us - not on Google Maps it's not anyway.

Breakfast over, we walked along the prom for a long, long way. Like most of the seaside towns we've visited this year, there is a lovely wide pedestrian area with cycle paths alongside. Saw some of the young, muscle-men doing their exercises and an added bonus was spotting a young man heading off down the beach to the sea with nought on - starkers! Mike said he probably just wanted to wash the sand out of his bits and pieces. For the men there was a young, suntanned, woman in a lime green bikini on the beach to ogle!

Sheila and Barry - we walked a really long way for us, probably not as far as you would have walked and were really quite tired when we got back but it was lovely and warm, t-shirt and shorts! Timed it just right because it rained afterwards.

We left after lunch, we could have filled with water from some of the fountains on the prom but I wanted to go somewhere where I could put my chair out to sit in the sun - what sun? Unfortunately, the rough weather seems to be following us. Perhaps we should turn around and retrace our steps. Maybe when we meet up with Sheila and Barry they'll take it with them ( the bad weather, not the chair)!

We've arrived at parking Almerimar, 7.50€ per night without electricity. 3.50€ extra for electricity.
We stopped outside here last year but in the end opted to stay on the port by the lighthouse. This site has space for about 50 vans and is run by a Spanish man named Pedro and his English wife. It's within cycling distance of Almerimar port which is a marina more than a working port if I remember right.

Sheila and Barry - this is where we waited for you last year, the one time we arrived somewhere before you!

I've just had a panic attack well, I've had an acute one and an ongoing chronic one! My iPad just threw a wobbly on me and shut down whilst I was quite happily writing this blog. It came back on saying my iPad was not set up! Managed to sort it out and hopefully it won't happen again. The ongoing panic is that I have 'lost' my magnetic bracelet and ring. I seem to remember putting them somewhere safe but we can't find them anywhere! Hopefully they'll turn up at some point.

Mike's already organised that we can have a game of boules/petanque for tomorrow with some Dutch and German people who have confused us already! They were only playing with two boules and when Mike asked why, they said that when there was more than two in a team you only used two of the little round things. Mike said back home we play with three - they said 'International Rules' - Kev & Chris, check this out for us please. Don't want to be bamboozled by these Dutch players!

Just had a walk along the beach, not the best in the world by any means, black gravelly stuff, lots of pebbles.
