Praia de Manta Rota to Pêra

Pêra, Faro, Portugal
N 37.127998 W 8.322770 - Pêra - Mikki's Place to Stay - 8.50€ a night

I slept well, Mike didn't, he woke about 6:30 am having heard a tapping or dripping noise coming from behind him. So he had to investigate didn't he and in order to do that he had to take stuff out of the lockers above our bed. He took all the clothes out of mine and of his too. Did he wake me - no - he's so considerate! I slept through the lot!

We'd had a message from Pedro at Motorhome Friends to say that they had one space in the neighbours garden and that he would reserve that for us for Friday. Had a message from Linda that Pedro's was busy again after a lot of the Dutch had gone home and he might have to 'double up' on their pitch.

We left Manta Rota and headed along the N125 even ignoring the SatNag at Faro because we didn't want to get on the A22 (toll road) by accident, not having registered our camper for the tolls. We did come unstuck because things have changed since the last time we came in this direction and we found ourselves at Faro Airport and had to do a turn-around!

We got to the Algarve Shopping Centre to do a shop. Mike phoned Sheila to see if she would see if there was space for us for the night at Mikki's Place to Stay where they were so we could spend some time with them. While we were doing our shop she messaged back to say that there were two spaces reserved and if we got there first we could have first choice.

Shopping done we tried to find our way out of the centre, following the directional signs for where we wanted we were faced with a 3 meter bridge. Now we don't like to take chances with bridges so we'd no option but to back up which upset the Dutchman in the car behind us a bit but either he had to back up too or be pushed back by us!

Our SatNag wanted to take us into Mikki's by the little rutted track that we'd used the first time we went there a couple of years ago but we wanted the other entrance so, once again, we had to ignore it and find the other entrance.

The first van I spotted was Sheila & Barry's. Sheila gave us the numbers of the two pitches and we made our choice.

We had a chat with S & B and a sandwich (thank you Sheila). After getting ourselves settled in and registering we retired to the bar where we sampled the large glasses of red wine at 1.20€ a glass. Suffice it to say we had a few. Back at Mr & Mrs Pascoe's van we had more liquid and it wasn't coffee as well as a light meal made by Sheila. One of our party was slightly worse for wear - again! No, actually it was both of us although one was worse than the other but we did manage to find our way back to our van.

Ha ha. Yes I think I was the third person worse for wear that night too but it was great making you the meal instead of the other way round Linda. Looking forward to another catch up soon x

Wires crossed a bit here Sheila. When Mike was looking for the drip (not me) we were at Manta Rota. Mind you, the third person bit was probably right, 'cos the other two (us) were well away but what about the fourth?
