Mikki's Place to Stay

We did get our last game of Pétanque although there were only eight of us playing this time . The site was pretty empty by this time and the remaining Dutch chose not to play.

We came to Mikki's on Tuesday to join Sheila and Barry. Due to the fact that they moved to a better pitch and then booked us in we also have a wider pitch in a much nicer part of the site.

Yesterday I decided to do some hand washing and didn't realise just how much I'd done until I took it all down to the sinks to rinse it - I'd done the equivalent of a full washing machine load. Fortunately there is a spin dryer which made things a bit easier. I reckon I used the cost of washing machine use on electric for the spin dryer (free).

Tuesday night we had a meal at the restaurant (Piri-Piri Chicken) which was very nice indeed. Last night we invited Sheila and Barry to a Mike version of Chicken Karai and tonight we are going back down to the restaurant for Nasi-Goreng and Saté.

It's been wash day again today, three washing machine loads including two lots of bedding which we are now trying to get dry . It's a good job there's a bit of a breeze as well as the sunshine.

We've had some beautiful weather since Monday so let's hope it continues.

It's very difficult to describe Mikki's. There has certainly been extensive work done since we were here two years ago. For one thing the site has been extended but in a very tasteful manner with rock gardens and herb gardens planted. Mikki is an artist in both ceramic and painting and you will find ceramic birds and other items planted amongst the foliage of various plants. Her workshop has been extended and you can sign up for courses held on Wednesdays. There is also a fresh water swimming pool for the use of clients which looks inviting but the water's a bit on the chilly side (I had a paddle to test it out yesterday).

It's very different to Motorhome Friends where there the emphasis is on fun and I love it but I like it here too because it's different. More now because I like where the pitch is than where we were the other week and two years before.
