The waves were pretty noisy last night and this morning we went up to the public toilets to empty the cassette and get some water and as I was standing there I looked back down the car park to see the spray of a wave rising much higher than the cliffs. I didn't get to see another one that height though.

Another beautiful blue sky and scorching sun today and we were going to spend part of it driving and shopping.

We re-traced our journey to Sagres as far as Lagos. We had thought about stopping there but there were so many campers on that site we changed our minds and headed for Silves, stopping on the way at Aldi's in Lagos for some shopping. As usual, we bought too much and we've enough food on board to feed an army (and drink)!

Silves is not on the coast, it's about 15 km inland, we chose it because there are two possibly three parking areas for campers. We chose this one after driving to the other and deciding it was too crowded. Here there are spaces for about 50 vans and today there were plenty of spaces to choose from - like most other sites it has been full in the past. So far, we have been lucky in that we've not been turned away from any sites because there was no room. At Rincon de la Victoria in Spain we had to wait maybe an hour or two before getting on the site.

This has been 'under new management' and re-opened in November last year. It's clean and tidy and not too far to walk into Silves itself. There is a walking/cycle track that is directly outside.
