I have been to Bletchley Park before, many years ago, and they have improved the place no end since I was last there - plenty of interactive things that appeal to adults as well as children. I tried some, and I'm not sure they would have employed me back then! Saw Huts 3, 6, 8 and Turing’s office. The Huts have been renovated obviously but they are laid out as they would have been back then, including blackout, and you do get a feel for how it would have felt to work in them. They were very dark due to the blackout, and airless, and remember that back then they were allowed to smoke in there, and did!
The mansion has a good display about the making of the film, The Imitation Game, but I was disappointed to find that the exterior shots of Bletchley Park were actually shot elsewhere – I would have thought that the outside of the mansion would have suited the purpose admirably
.
I also discovered that the National Computer Museum is in fact nothing to do with Bletchley Park Trust; I thought Bletchley Park WAS the museum. The museum is in the same area and you can get to it from Bletchley Park, but I did not do so. It was the end of a fairly long day and frankly I would expect only to see things I already know about, and don’t need to revisit!

Very interesting Liz! I wonder why they didn't use the exterior of the house?

Yes, it would be very interesting. We recently watched the TV series 'The Bletchley Circle" and there were shots in that like your third photo .
