Ipswitch, Queensland, Australia
Day 132 After a few days of pondering we decided that since we are going north when we leave Chinchilla for good, we shall backtrack a bit for our week excursion. We packed up the van, fueled up in town and hit the road. Our destination at this juncture was not set in stone yet but we did have a few ideas. We headed towards southeast towards Toowoomba. During this drive we decided our point of interest will be the Tambourine Mountains. Shortly after Toowoomba we got off the A2 highway and took the Cobb & Co tourist drive. It is just so much better driving the country side. The curvy road took us through a few small towns and a lot of mountain scenery. We made a quick pit stop in the first one called Gatton. The info center was on a quiet lake, with BBQs and picnic tables scattered nearby. Laidly and Rosewood followed and then the city of Ipswich where we pulled in for the night. We found yet another info center parked the van and went for a walk. A few restaurants were open but everything else was closed Sunday night.
