Goomeri, Queensland, Australia
Day 146 We got back to Chinchilla and were able to work for just a few days, getting all the equipment bogged in mud. At one point the picker got stuck and had to be pulled out by the tractor, then the boll buggy and tractor got stuck. While bringing in the chains we got the ute stuck, both got pulled out by the picker. We are really unlucky to get all this rain as they have had drought like weather for most of the last decade. We are both itching to go north and continue our trip. We did not think we would be in one place for this length of time. The Evans' have been too nice for us to leave without the job done.
So after a week back home we are back out for a road trip. We are going to explore some of the Sunshine Coast this time. The Sunshine Coast is the coastline right north Brisbane, the Gold Coast was right south of it. We set out in the afternoon after taking the morning to stock up the van. We headed east this time towards Kingaroy, first passing through Greg's hometown of Jandowae. Our first stop was a bit later in Wondai as we stopped for fish-n-chips and to visit the tourist info. There is a wine region in the area we would like to discover. The wineries were about 20 minutes down the road just past the next town of Murgon. By the time we got to the area the wineries were all closed for the day. No worries as there was the Bjelke Peterson Dam for us to explore. It was a nice place to chillax for a bit that's for sure. We didn't want to go to far for the night as we are going to go back for the winery drive. Murgon looked a little shady driving through so we drove 10 kms to the next town of Goomeri. We found a nice park to crash at for the night.
