Darwin Theory

Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia
Day 235 We decided to check into a hostel to take a break from sleeping in the heat. The Elkes Lodge was the cheapest we could find and it is only 10 minutes walk to downtown. Our first night in town we went to see a movie as it was couples night and the price was right. An adult ticket on a regular night here in Darwin is $18, but for couples night we paid $22 for both of us. The movie we chose was The Looper, there was only 5 movies to chose from and two of those were for kids. It wasn't the best movie but it wasn't the worst either.
We also took a day to run some errands. We are starting to look for work. We have had two and half months off since picking cotton and are not pleased at how long our money lasted. If it wasn't for the hick-ups with the van we could of possibly made it to Perth. We also made a trip to the immigration office to get info on extending our visas. Jenn is a shoe in as the cotton picking qualifies her for a years extension. Me on the other hand am TOO OLD! Just like our original visa you have to be under 31. The only option I have is to apply for a vacation visa. Also if I wanted to stay longer I have to leave the country for at least two weeks, cause they don't issue anything past 12 months except our current visa. There is so much left to see and do we are considering staying longer.
We also went to the Mindil Beach night market last night. Surprised to find that it had fewer vendors than the Port Douglas market and this city's population is about 25 times bigger. What the market did offer was an abundance of food, and live entertainment. There were the usual buskers along with a live band and other performers as well.
