Ho Chi Minh City - City Hotel and Eating Out

We started in Hanoi and then visited Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. From
Cambodia, Ho Chi Minh City beckoned and we could not resist visiting
Vietnam's largest city that was formerly known as Saigon. The trip was well worth it.

Ho Chi Minh City - Motorcycle Madness and the Windows Garden Cafe

Vietnam is known for its abundance of mopeds and motorcycles. That was
certainly evident in a previous video "Hanoi - Motorcycle Mania".
However, while we were in Hanoi we heard that there were even more
motorcycles on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). That prediction
is reflected in this video as the density of mopeds/motorcycles is
second to none.
A row of parked mopeds/motorcycles parked on the
sidewalk lead us into the "Windows Garden Cafe", one of the trendiest
cafes in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City - Independence Palace - Notre Dame - Post Office - Colours of Vietnam

An important historical site in Ho Chi Minh City is Independence or
Reunification Palace, therefore it is a "must-see". We then headed for
Notre Dame Cathedral and found the beautiful Post Office right next
door. Along the way the colors of Vietnam make an impression.

Ho Chi Minh City - The Jade Emperor Pagoda

The Jade Emperor is the ruler of Heaven
and all realms of existence according to Taoist mythology. He is one of
the most important gods of the Chinese traditional religion pantheon. In
Ho Chi Minh City, we are on the search - first, to find the Jade
Emperor Pagoda and once we get there, which of the many statues is the
Jade Emperor? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMbENZuWwH4&list=UUxpFs6FzKundMzuin_cQhVQ&index=2&feature=plcp

Escape the heat at the Vincom Center,
the new downtown shopping mall. It was Bread Talk, the bread and pastry
shop that caught our fancy for its broad selection and low prices We
continue our walk through downtown Ho Chi Minh City with stops at the
Opera House to eventually end up at City Hall.
