Luang Prabang, Laos
Luang Prabang - Main Street

When I think of Luang Prabang a smile comes over my face brought on by a beautiful memory.
After the extremely interesting hustle and bustle of Hong Kong and Hanoi we were ready to change gears and Luang Prabang did not disappoint. With its laid back demeanor, physical charm and multitude of recreational activities Luang Prabang is a stop in Asia not be be missed. A good start is walking its main street and taking in all the amazing things it has to offer. What a great experience.

Luang Prabang - Mount Phousi ✺ National Museum ✺ Royal Palace ✺ Wat Mai ✺ Wat Haw Pha Bang

Luang Prabang is so amazing in many aspects. Buddhism is the national religion so it is not surprising that on the grounds of the former Royal Palace that now serves as the National museum of Laos there are two beautiful "wats" (Buddhist temples) - Wat Haw Pha Bang and Wat Mai.
We are amazed as we catch the "novice monks" during their evening prayers at Wat Mai.
That is followed by our ascent of Mount Phousi for a panoramic view of Luang Prabang. Watch Barbara give a geography lesson as well as her impressions of our Asia trip as well as other trips we have made.
I can see in this video by how relaxed we are, that we are warming up to Asia and Luang Prabang in particular.
If you go to Asia do not miss Luang Prabang. It is a destination that left us in awe.
