Going To The Movies

Daegu, South Korea
Last week Wed-Fri was final exams. Students wrote their exams and left at lunch so there were no school lunches. Thursday for lunch all the teachers went for lunch then we went to the movies.

I had a choice of three movies, Spiderman, a Korean Romance Movie, or a Korean Movie about a water virus. I opted for the virus movie as I had already planned to watch spiderman saturday with my kids

Close to my apartment are two movie theatres, CGV and Megabox. I will miss both of these when I move in August. These are highrise buildings and the theatre lobbies are on the 5th floor.

The main lobby is like most theatres. We had the choice of going to the ticket counter or the automatic machines. An attendant guided us to the machines.

They were simple to use even in korean. First pick your movie and showtime. Then choose the number of adult and child tickets. Then choose your seat. Finally insert cash or pay by card. You can also get points on your member card which I dont have.

The fifth floor also has several amusement attractions. There is a 4D simulator ride, fortune tellers booths, a video arcade hall, and shooting ranges.

The centre atrium had a trampoline and slide setup. I hope it was safe five stories up and that people wont fall down to the ground floor if it tears!

Next you go up in the escalator to the movie floor. I like this theatre as its usually not busy. I will miss being close to two theatres when I move end of august.
