Jungangno's New Crossing

Daegu, South Korea

In downtown Daegu Jungangno has a new crossing at the intersection of the Donseongno pedestrianized zone.

Replacing the underground shopping passageway there is a new set of lights to cross at street level.

Previously the only way to cross was by going down the stairs into the underground shopping passage and back up the stairs on the other side. Now you have the added choice of waiting for the lights and simply walking across

Hopefully this will bring more traffic to the north section between Jungangno and Daegu Station which was always less busy compared to the southern portion to Banwoldang. It seems to have caught on as many crowds were enjoying the new novel treat at waiting for the lights here.

Nearby the CGV which seemed to have closed down recently has also reopened with renovated ticket booths.

The re-invigoration of the city continues adding convenient amenities to make life easier for its citizens.
