Continuing my wanderings I was leaving the Marina Bay area and heading across to Chinatown. There were leafy boulevards stretching towards the downtown office towers
I made it to one area where there was a Muslim shrine and another Chinese temple that were both locked.
Coming thru some of the side streets I was also able to see the back of the shuttered buildings which had spiral staircases in the rear
Heading to 'Mosque St' there was another large community Mosque mixed in with the local neighbourhood
Next door on 'Temple St' was a Hindu Temple which wanted an entrance fee so I just looked thru the door.
Behind was the start of the Chinatown neighbourhood characterized by its floating red balloons. It was nice to see the religious diversity and harmony of a Mosque, Hindu Temple, and then Chinese Temple pressed so closely together
Another block down was a massive Chinese Temple. I remember coming here in 2008. Inside was some ceremony taking place with monks, people tapping cymbals and bells, and other people dressed in black robes.
They said I cant take any pictures today because of the ceremony but can came back tomorrow to take pictures. They said if I took one the spirit will follow me
I was now tired and wanted to get back to the airport to sit on the lounge chairs. I didnt want to change stations so walked to City Hall passing by the colourful canal area from where it would be one line to the airport. Had I sat down and waited I could have seen Singapore at night all lit up but was too tired to think of that.
